Everyone has an innate ability to recover from traumatic stress with time. However, the intense symptoms persists for some people and affect their daily lives. The persistent of these symptoms, may cause these people to lose the ability to make the correct emotional and cognitive adaptations to cope with the trauma we experience. As a result, Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) or PTSD and other severe emotional disorders surface.
