Trauma and Post-Trauma Stress Disorder

There are two major types. The first one is trauma related to the core issue such as persistent child neglect leading to poor self esteem & poor self-sufficiency. The kid may feel lonely, helpless and fear. The second one is Post-Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD): PTSD is triggered after experiencing terrifying events encompasses physical or sexual assault, hospitalization, losing a loved one, fire disaster, traffic accident, witnessing a suicide, verbal or emotional abuse, etc. Sometimes a client might have been exposed to events in between the above two categories. An example would be sexual abuse by the same person over an extended period.
